Barehand
Allteck is qualified to execute barehand techniques on voltages up to and including 500kv. The use of barehand makes the tasks associated with the higher voltages more practical and efficient. Barehand is an integral component of power line work and Allteck has the knowledge and experience to perform all aspects of this specialized line of work.
Equipment
Allteck’s investment in specialized tools and equipment is significant and on-going. Our patented Linemaster Robotic Arm helps ensure safe, efficient repair, replacement and upgrading of energized distribution and transmission lines. Every Allteck bucket truck is outfitted for liveline stick work prior to distribution. Carefully managed to match project demands, our rapidly expanding Energized Services fleet includes:
- Linemaster Robotic Arms, including modules for transmission, distribution, and substation transmission
- Liveline tool trailers
- Liveline jib insulated for 500kV
- Several bucket trucks with one certified for 500kV barehand
Training
With highly-skilled, fully-certified liveline crews and a large fleet of specialty tools and equipment, Allteck’s Energized Services team is ready to meet any liveline challenge. Allteck’s commitment to training, development and continuous upgrading means that crew members are trained to handle a wide range of liveline procedures, including:
- Stick work 12 kV to 500 kV
- Rubber glove work to 25 kV
- Barehand work to 500 kV
Where access is limited due to terrain or environmental restrictions, our specialized crews are trained and certified in helicopter structure access and barehand work methods. This includes approved long-line access and rescue techniques.
Linemaster Robotic Arm
The Linemaster Robotic Arm is not just a new tool; it is a totally new approach for energized maintenance that essentially eliminates the need for maintenance outages. It allows for safe and efficient repair and replacement of any transmission or distribution system. Allteck's highly trained power line technicians are experienced in all areas of energized services, such as barehand, rubber glove, and hot stick procedures, and provide remarkable advances in energized solutions.
With the combination of the Robotic Arm and our highly-trained PLTs, the safety of power line technicians is significantly enhanced and labour efficiency is achieved by the creation of a safe and controlled work zone. Once energized conductors are secured and moved out of the work zone using the remote controlled Linemaster Robotic Arm, work can safely proceed to perform any maintenance that is required. Substantial cost savings are expected and projects can be completed in less time than with conventional methods.
Allteck has the ability to adapt to all wire configurations. The Robotic Arm can be controlled from the ground or from an elevated position remotely while maintaining safe limits of approach while conductors are moved into the required position.
